What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) works similarly. fitmacros uses both to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and make the product function correctly across sessions.
Essential cookies and storage
These are required for fitmacros to work. They handle authentication state, session continuity, routing, theme preferences, consent choices, and core product operation. Without them, basic features like signing in and navigating between pages would break. Essential storage cannot be disabled.
- Authentication tokens that keep you signed in securely
- Session identifiers for routing and product state
- Theme preference (dark or light mode)
- Consent preference records so your cookie choices are remembered
- Onboarding progress so incomplete setup can resume
Analytics cookies
fitmacros may use lightweight analytics to understand how the product is used at a high level: which pages are visited, how often key features are accessed, and where people run into friction. Analytics cookies are off by default and only activated if you explicitly allow them through the preferences panel on this page.
Marketing cookies
fitmacros may show controlled sponsored placements inside eligible signed-in web screens for free users, but only after you explicitly allow the marketing category. Marketing cookies and advertising requests stay blocked by default until that consent exists, and they remain blocked for premium/ad-free users, native app shells, restricted flows, camera/scanner/composer surfaces, and public pages in this phase. When enabled, Google AdSense or similar advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure, personalize, frequency-cap, and protect display ads. Retargeting remains off unless it is introduced later and clearly disclosed first.
Third-party services
fitmacros relies on third-party providers for authentication (Google Sign-In), hosting, analytics where consented, billing, email, bot protection, and advertising where marketing consent is granted. These services may set their own cookies as part of their normal operation. For advertising, Google and other partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, personalization, fraud prevention, and frequency controls. fitmacros does not give advertisers direct access to your meal logs, saved templates, account records, or premium billing records.
Managing your preferences
You can manage your cookie preferences using the controls below and can revisit them later from the More menu while signed in. Rejecting or withdrawing the marketing category blocks future sponsored placements and ad-cookie requests from fitmacros. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings and use Google or browser advertising settings to manage personalized advertising choices where those controls are available. Note that clearing essential cookies will sign you out and may reset your theme and consent preferences.
